Western Isles Wildflowers
Western Isles wildflowers is a collection of information about our Hebridean wildflowers including identification hints, traditional herbal uses and general plant lore.
Eyebright
Euphrasia officinalis
Gaelic name: Lus nan Leac

There are at least 38 species of eyebright (including hybrids) growing in the Western Isles!
Distinguishing between the different species of eyebright is difficult, notes to help may come later...
Eyebright can be found on machair, moorland, maritime heath and even rocky ledges.
Eyebright is a native wildflower of the Western Isles.
