The Marine Mammal Medic training is a one day course and will be run on a Saturday. You will need to be over 16 and have a dry suit or wet suit as quite a bit of time will be spent in the water - we do have a limited number of survival suits available but advise obtaining your own suit as you will need it to take part in rescues afterwards. The course comprises of lectures in the morning on basic cetacean and seal biology, species identification and first aid and assessment, followed by practical exercises in the afternoon when you will learn to use the cetacean rescue equipment and safe catching and handling of seal pups.
