Callanish Standing Stones, Until the middle of the 19th century the site was covered by a layer of peat up to five feet deep, it is nearly impossible to picture this now. I have sat on a small hillock over looking the stones and it gives you the goosebumps, try and visit first thing in the morning or last thing at night to capture the eeire atmosphere
