The Harris Tapestry Exhibition

The Harris Tapestry was created by over 40 local people to mark the Millenium.

Using local materials such as Harris tweed, the nine large panels portray the social and historical events in Harris during the last 1000 years.

The tapestries were created for the interest and enjoyment of all who see them, both now and in the future.

The room where the tapestries are displayed are also home to an interesting collection of historical information relating to the Islands of Saint Kilda which has been compiled by local historian Bill Lawson - you are welcome to peruse it.

The building also houses tearooms.
