- WI: Rare visitor (30 or less records)
- Breeds: Arctic Northern Europe - Scandiavia, (+Scotland rarely)
- Winters: South Europe, tropical & South Asia, North Africa - freshwater sites
- Habitat: Tundra, bogs & marshes, grassy meadows, on migration mudflats
- Diet: Insects, small invertebrates, foraging in soft mud having vegetation
- Very small wader, short & yellow legs, outer tail feathers white (Compare to little stint - dark legs & grey outer tail feathers), loner
