• WI: Uncommon resident breeder (10-99 breeding pairs) in Stornoway Castle Grounds. Otherwise uncommon winter visitor (recorded in low numbers each year)

 

Prominent light-coloured bare skin patch around the base of the adult rook's bill. (The other Rook photograph show this more clearly).
Loose-looking feathers on the legs looking like short baggy trousers!

 

"A crow in a crowd is a rook, a rook on it's own is a crow" (A Yorkshire saying)
