• Sylvia borin
• UK: Passage visitor, migrant breeder. Arrives late-April - May, leaves mid- July, Continental migrants seen Aug - Sept
• UK: 190,000 pairs (summer). BTO
• WI: Scarce passage visitor (very small numbers each year). Singing have been males heard, but there are no breeding records
• Breeds: West Asia, Europe
• Winters: Central & Southern Africa
• Habitat: Forest edge, glades, deciduous & mixed woodland edges, towns (prefers open areas near trees)
• Very plain warbler, mainly brown-grey above and whitish below, mostly hides in scrub cover
• Diet: Berries, summer insects
• Listen to a Garden Warbler (RSPB site)
