Isle of Harris - Outer Hebrides (Western Isles)
8th June, 2011
"We had the fortune to come across two common gulls nests on Wednesday, this week, the 8th June 2011 on sand dunes in the Isle of Harris. One had one egg in it and one nest had three eggs in it. The eggs in both looked really about to hatch – you could see the chicks poking through. This being the case we took quickly moved way, so as to let the parents get back on the nests and as we moved along further, we saw a chick in the undergrowth, which then started walking a little way from us".
