Finding Dead Birds - The Bird Flu Scare

Approximately a million birds die of natural causes every year in the UK.

Report dead birds to DEFRA if you find:

any dead wild swans, geese, ducks

3 or more of same species of wild birds

5 or more of mixed species in the same place

The DEFRA web site details what to do with dead birds.

Do not handle dead birds, but when you already have done, wash your hands well, and do not eat anything until you have done so.
