I don’t think I’ve seen an individual before with an almost completely white tail and not a sign of any tags It was BIG – so it was probably female. It seemed in no hurry and just circled for several minutes before it drifted away. We don’t often see White-tails, but it certainly wasn’t one of the North Uist pair, both of which I am quite familiar with. |

| sun 13th August, 2006 | Green Sandpiper | West Gerinish - South Uist - Hebrides | 1 in a drain in the Maintenance Compound at Rangehead 4th Green sandpiper I've seen in 22 years. This is the second I’ve seen at Rangehead and both were in drains. The other two were at the Howmore ‘Estuary’ and on the shore of Loch Stilligarry on South Uist, so they do wander around loch margins and river banks as well sometimes. |
